Title: Changing the opacity of a background image causes pdf export errors
Post by: andyS on February 19, 2014, 11:04:10 PM
Hi all I'm a relative newbie to Scribus and have just upgraded to the latest version.  My project is a very simple invite but when I try and reduce the opacity of the background image the preflight verifier reports a transparency and the pdf has no image.  What am I doing wrong?

I think this will work.

1) Windows Menu --> Preflight Verifier
2) Preflight Verifier window --> top right corner choose pdf 1.5 (this supports transparency) from postscript.
3) File Menu --> Export --> PDF

I replicated your issue and this seemed to fix it, let me know.

There are quite a few pdf options, depending on your needs you might want to read up on them or ask I will try to assist you.

Hope this helps,
mnawij

The warning is there because not all PDF versions support transparency (1.4 or higher needed), nor do all PDF viewers support it correctly.
