these image folder, were they created manually? or did you do a collect for output for these two documents? if the former, then open the documents and do a collect for output "save". you will be prompted to create a save folder, i'm not sure if it will work with the current folders you have, but i dont think it should be an issue. the collect for output function will create a sub-folder for the images for that document. and scribus should reference the image directories separately for the respective documents.

let us know if this works for you.

Beginner Talk / Remembering Image Locationa
Last post by guthpublication - July 14, 2026, 02:04:50 PM
I have two unrelated projects, A.sla and B.sla.
Images for ProjectA are located in a folder called ImageA.
Images for ProjectB are located in a folder called ImageB.
If I open and work on A.sla, then open B.sla, I would like B.sla to remember that the images it uses are in the ImageB folder, not in the ImageA folder I was using for the other project. Changing the folder where I have an image seems to change the settings globally, not for an individual sla [similar issues also with where I print a PDF etc]

One thing that's helped me with Scribus is creating a small test document first to make sure everything behaves the way I expect before applying it to the full project. It saves a lot of frustration if something is off. Let us know what version you're using too, since that can sometimes make a difference.

~/Library/Application Support/Scribus and ~/Library/Preferences/Scribus are the two locations you'd want to delete files from, with Scribus closed. Unless your disk is corrupted, removing the Application files will likely do nothing.

before you reinstall, which wont really do anything for you anyway, exit scribus and locate the configuration file for scribus.  there should be a scribus directory in ~/Library/Application Support , rename the directory to scribusold, then restart scribus (directory may be named .scribus.

When scribus restart it recreate the configuration files with default values. try opening or recreating the document with issues and see if the issues persist.

I also have this issue. How can I view objects/frames that cause this problem? It happens on pages 58, 59. I use a Mac Studio 2023, with M2 Apple Max, Tahoe 26.5.2, Scribus 1.6.6 Thank you. -TNGEO
