I installed from the stable repositories (squeeze), so I got 1.3. Tried to install 1.4 from testing (wheezy), ran into dependecy problems. Is there a way to install version 1.4 in squeeze? It was installed before, converted my files to the 1.4-format, but I can't remeber how I did the installation. Could someone help?
yep, by using the scribus own repositories.
please read

O.k., thanks for your help. I saw this page before and did exactly what is described (see below). As a result I always get Scribus 1.3.5, but not 1.4. Do I need some post-install upgrades?
****************************************************
sudo mousepad /etc/apt/sources.list
add:
deb http://debian.scribus.net/debian/ stable main
deb http://debian.tagancha.org/debian/ stable main
sudo gpg --keyserver wwwkeys.pgp.net --recv-keys EEF818CF
sudo gpg --armor --export EEF818CF | sudo apt-key add -
sudo apt-get install scribus-ng
Scribus 1.4 is package "scribus", not "scribus-ng".

Don't you also have to reload the sources list before it will find the new repositories?
I always do things like this in Synaptic where it shows me graphically exactly which packages are available.
Yes, right, an "apt-get update" is needed before the install.
Did update before, tried to install scribus (not scibus-ng), but didn't work (no package scribus found), so I stuck to ng. Can't really figure out the problem. Anyway, now it works. :D Thanks a lot!
