Thank you for the reply.I had been trying to print direct to the printer as i had done countless times before. I did as you suggest and saved a file as a PDF. I had bother picking the correct printer port in the driver ( not sure why that was needed? ) but the files printed fine just using paper.I can now print the labels now.Thank you for help it is much appreciated.

I guess the issue here is that the fonts for text frames are the ones installed in the PC.

The fonts for PDF form fields is just a setting telling the PDF viewer which font to use for the field, the fonts will be provided by the PDF viewer and not the PDF form?

are you printing directly to the printer? or are you creating a PDF and printing that? You should be doing the latter).

After updating to Scribus 1.6.2 the files I have created for printing labels in older versions will not print. These files printed no trouble before.
My printer sounds as if it is going to print but then doesn't. I have uninstalled the HP driver for my Officejet Pro 8620 and re-installed but still won't print.Any advice on what's going on and how to fix it would be apreciated.

PDF forms use the standard 14 PDF fonts.. search for those teams online and you'll get tons of returned sites.

Have you tried double clicking the pdf field after you create it? This window opens when I do double click it. I think this is what you are looking for.

The 14 fonts your are looking for should be in the drop down menu in the appearance tab.

Maybe open an issue on the bug tracker for this? https://bugs.scribus.net/

PDF Generation / Font list for PDF Form Text Fi...

A different set of fonts is available in the Content Properties for PDF form text fields than for text frames, and none of the 14 base fonts appear for PDF form text fields.  I would be happy with one of the 14 the base fonts.  Why are they not in the list of fonts in Content Properties for PDF form text fields?  (They do appear in the Content Properties font list for text frames).  Is there some other set of properties I should be looking at for PDF form text fields?

In the screenshots, you can see that Times New Roman does not appear in the text field list.

In my application, it there is some extra complication involved in using non-standard embedded fonts, so i would like my PDF document not to specify any.  But I can't manage to do that for form text fields.

i used ppa posted here - snap in ubuntu is 1.5 version and i wanted 1.6.2

edit: I downloaded few app images of different versions from the official https://sourceforge.net/projects/scribus/. Same thing which leads me to believe it must be something wrong with my system setup (none of the other apps have that issue). Not sure what but that's not on scribus.

I seem to be having a related issue - a different set of fonts is available in the Content Properties for PDF form fields than for text frames, and none of the base 14 fonts appear for PDF form fields.  I would be happy with the base 14 fonts.  Why are they not in the list of fonts in Content Properties for PDF form fields?  Is there some other set of properties I should be looking at?
