yes, there are (rather concrete) plans in this direction.

probably, the first thing will be to allow starting scripts from the toolbar.

Beginner Talk / can't edit document
Last post by PelesDaughter - Today at 05:45:35 PM
Hi Y'all. I just recently had a problem solved of not being able to open the program beyond the task bar (https://forums.scribus.net/index.php/topic,6240.0.html), which is awesome, but it seems there is a cascade of issues happening. Upon being able to open my document, I am finding that I cannot do anything. I can't click on text boxes to activate or edit them, move them around, or anything else. The "hand" icon moves around, but when I click, nothing happens. It is as though the program is in "read only" mode. Yet, upon using the help function for "read only" nothing came up, and searching the options under Edit and clicking on and off "item action mode" nothing happens either.

Does anyone have any ideas?

what version of windows are you using?

10 Pro...but guess what?? After letting the computer sit overnight, it worked o_O I'll attribute it to the Great Mystery why it didn't work before. Thanks Adm and a.l.e :)

Linux / Customize Toolbar

It will be fine, if the user could customize Toolbars according to the personal taste and needs.
Is there any possibility?

Layout Issues / Re: Help with text spacing / r...

The contour line is essentially the extra polygon you create, but it is part of the image frame (and moves with it) rather than being a separate object.

depending on the size of the font used and the size of the image, getting a nice even shape would be tedious if there is a lot of images.

I came up with another method that will help, especially if using a complex shape.
Select one the polygon shapes and place it on the page, adjust the size as needed.
Then copy the polygon and paste it onto the page. Resize on of the polygons, make it a little larger and then select the smaller poly, right click and convert to an image frame. add the image you want to that frame. Then select both shapes and align centered hor and ver. you should see you image frame inside the other poly shape with at bit of a border spacing around it.
You can then select the text wrapping type you need for the object.

you can select the image frame and the poly around it and set the stroke color to none.
I left the stoke visible to better see what i had done.

Quote from: AdmFubar on Today at 12:02:13 AMtry this;

Create a shortcut to executable, right click it and open properties, move your cursor to text field labeled Target: and at the very end add -fullscreen. The full line should look like this:

pathto\scribus.exe -fullscreen
the path portion will be what drive and directory that scribus is installed in. is should pre-filled and you will just need to add the -fullscreen portion

Thank you... however, I get a dialog box stating that the name isn't valid. Any ideas?

Quote from: PelesDaughter on July 01, 2025, 12:01:30 AMAre you suggesting that I rename the Scribus folder to something else?

yes, something like "Scribus 1.6.4 backup".

then scribus will recreate "Scribus 1.6.4" for you.

if you're not happy with the result, you can always delete the newly created folder (if any has been created) and rename the old one back to "Scribus 1.6.4"

(of course, first close scribus...)

Interestingly enough, I performed the recommended steps and while the program initially appeared to "reset" by prompting me to choose the settings for a new document or open a new one, upon taking both pathways the same problem persists :/
