Title: Page numbering: "The value you have entered is outside the range..."
Post by: Barry McKenna on May 07, 2017, 03:28:07 AM
Scribus 1.4.6, Win 7.1 x64

I'm developing a book with 100+ pages, so I'll need to work with files smaller than that, I believe.

The page numbering/Master Page works fine for the 1st document with pages "1" thru "5".

I have imported that same Master Page with a page number frame with one "#".

"Sections" dialog refuses to allow me to start the page numbering with "6" (I'll need "6-9"),
on a separate file with that same Master Page with one "#".

I continuously return the message:
"The value you have entered is outside the range of page numbers in the current document (1-4)"

I have tried changing the "Start" field in the "Sections" dialog to "6" and the "Style" properties,
but still the same message as above.

My page size is "custom," in case that results in any anomalies.

the 'start' field tells scribus on wichpage of the current document a section begins. as your document contains four pages, you can't define a section (part of it) beginning on the 6th of those four pages.

what you need is a single section from page one to page four (the default) and a start value of '6'.
