Title: Importing numbered chapters?
Post by: SuffolkPunch on May 12, 2014, 12:40:03 PM
New to the forum - hope someone can help with my query, which is: does scribus 1.4.3 do auto-numbering of section and subsection headings?

I have a LibreOffice Writer document which has auto-numbered section headings and auto-numbered lists. But when I import it into Scribus only the auto-numbered lists survive intact - section and subsection numbering vanishes.

Is it possible yet?

Ok - so nobody knows the answer? No-one's ever tried to import a LO Writer document with auto-numbered sections?

On another tack: what new stuff's slated for Scribus 1.5 (or is that 1.6?). Maybe numbering's in that?
I can't find where the new features are spec'd.

Answering my own query: see http://wiki.scribus.net/canvas/1.5.x_Roadmap (http://wiki.scribus.net/canvas/1.5.x_Roadmap)

However, as a mere user, I cannot work out from the roadmap pages if auto-numbering of lists, chapters, sections etc is planned for Scribus 1.5.x or not!!

I think this might be part of what is called Text variables.
