Title: Evolution of a logo
Post by: GarryP on March 08, 2015, 03:13:30 PM
My latest wiki article is a little bit unusual. It's not a tutorial, as such, but it takes you on a whistle-stop tour through various FOSS applications showing a creative process of making a logo from initial sketch to 3D model.

You can find it here: http://wiki.scribus.net/canvas/Evolution_of_a_logo

I hope you find it interesting and get some inspiration.

Thanks CGood.

It would be nice to do the same sort of thing but for a whole magazine article spread. E.g. Getting the text, sourcing the images, creating bespoke graphics, creating the layout, choosing colours, choosing fonts, adding "effects", etc. etc.

The trouble is that I just don't have the time these days.

Glad you like it though.

You're welcome mnawij.

Blender has a steep learning curve - much steeper than Scribus I'd say - but it's worth putting a few hours in with a good tutorial and seeing how to do the basics. You never know when a quick 3D object will add an extra bit of spice to a document.

For inspiration - or just to see what people who really know what they're doing can create - you could try looking at the Blender Artists Gallery here: https://blenderartists.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?27-Forum-Gallery
