Title: 1st Time user - can't get text frames linked
Post by: Phil J on February 15, 2012, 11:26:57 PM
Hi - I've created a new file with 200 pages and automatic text frames in anticipation of inserting text which will fill most of those pages. When I'm sitting on page 1 and I Get Text, it only appears in the text frame and the remaining pages are blank. I saw a comment about Linking Text Frames on the tool bar but cannot find this.

How do I achieve my aim of getting text and have it flow through as many pages as it needs?

Cheers

hi phil

i don't know what you really did.
usually if you set up a document with automatic text frames, they are linked!
if you really have checked the box for the automatic frames, my guess is that you created an additional textbox on the first page on top of the linked one and imported the text in this unlinked box...

if it's something else and you can't find the error, you can upload the sla file somewhere and i will check it...

Hi Phil J, I am glad you got it right.

I'm glad too that you use the same workflow as I do. When I started using Scribus I set up a 150 page temples in A5. With this formula I am able to use it for any book with a page count of up to 150.

Don't forget to delete the unwanted pages at the end!!

This has worked for me in over 7 books.
