Page size increases on export to PDF?

I have created a business card of dimensions 86 x 54mm and included a 3mm bleed.  As such I am expecting (and want) an exported page size of 92 x 60mm.  However, no matter what I do the resulting PDF page size is 106mm x 74mm (looks like 10mm area outside the crop marks rather than the 3mm specified and I was expecting).  Any ideas?  Thx

The bleed defines how much of the content outside the margins that is shown. If you place an image with bleed you will notice that the bleed is indeed 3 mm, but Scribus also adds extra space for crop marks.

Unfortunately this extra space can not controlled by the user.

this is correct – and usually no problem.
but lots of printshops don't need crop marks – ask your printer, which marks he needs!

The problem comes when you want to try to print yourself.

I don't know of any FOSS imposition tool that can correctly handle bleed. I don't even think Quite Imposing Plus for Acrobat can handle it in a good way.
