Have spent half of my day trying to figure this out.  I am working on a newsletter (pdf) I want to put for example a facebook image and make it clickable linking to our facebook page.  Can this be done with Scribus?  Please help.

It can be done, although it requires a couple extra steps, and is not as intuitive as I would like it to be:

1. On PDF Tools toolbar, click "Insert Link Annotation" (looks like a pair of footprints), and draw a frame where you want the link to be located.
2. Select frame you just drew, then double-click.
3. In the "Annotation Properties" dialogue, select "External Web-Link" and type in the destination address.

You're halfway done! The only problem is, you still can't see the link in the pdf. To finish it:

4. Draw a text frame (or image frame, depending on what media you're using) over the top of the link, then add desired information (e.g., "click here").
5. To prevent the link and the text from being separated if you move them later on, you might want to group them (Ctrl+G).
