Only one "face" of font seen

Hi, it seems no one had been discussed here this: I cannot find the reason why my Scribus (1.6.1) cannot see all "faces" of the font "Bahnschrift". This is the Microsoft`s one and any other program (LibreOffice, Inkscape) cann see all the faces, not only "Regular". There are 12 faces in the TTF file. I had tried to copy the "bahnschrift.ttf" file into document`s directory (I mean the directory I save the document I am working on and on which I would like to use the - to be concrete - LightCondensed face of the mentioned font). No success.

Is there any solution for this (I can only guess this is not the only font Scribus may have the problem with) os is this just the system`s behaviour?

Running Scribus 1.6.1 on Windows 11, 64 bit.

Thanx for any hint!

A momentary idea: could be the problem in the fact the Scribus`s dialogue for addin Additional Font Path does not see the Windows/Fonts subdirectory even I had set up "Showing the hidden objects" in system (so I am able to see this subdirectory in any File manager, but NOT in Scribus)? But I do not think so...

I will try the behaviour on latest snapshot of Scribus (1.6.3).

I have a separate font directory for scribus to use that is separate  from the system fonts. All the fonts i want to use in scribus I put there. I've even copied some system fonts to this directory so as I upgrade my system os  and changes are made to what fonts are included on a given os install I still have the same set available to me.

Yes - that was the tip I had found here so I tried it of course - no change in behaviour unfortunately :-(

Well - another idea. I dunno what the "Access" column in "Fonts" dialogue does mean. I see the value "User" for the font discussed above but for most of fonts I see "System". And the "Font name" shows "Bahnschrift Regular" only instead of all the possibilities from the particular TTF file.

Comparing to "Arial", for example, there are 9 possibilities listed and everyone has got the value "System" in column "Access".

Tried with newly installed version 1.6.2 and the latest snapshot of version 1.6.3 - the same behaviour.

Hmm - after changing the language environment to English (I use Czech normally) I see what the Access column means. The "Bahnschrift" font is NOT loaded from system subdirectory (i.e. C:\Windows\Fonts) but from C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Fonts thus there is "User" written. Anyway the TTF file located there consists from all 15 variations but the only Regular has been loaded & used by Scribus. Strange....

A few pics ilustrating the situation. Note both fonts consist in single particular files but for the Arial the "inside" TTF are listed whereas for the Bahnschrift the only one file is listed.

I resolved the Path for the Bahnschrift font (it had been created during some secondary installation in the past probably so actually the only its System font file is loaded by Scribus).

Well - I finally found (hopefully) the reason. As I checked the Microsoft pages with fonts description I think the mentioned behaviour has been introduced by "Variable font" in Styles&Weight for Bahnschrift. I had got this idea due to the fact the Arial is "Normal/Bold/Bold Italic/Italic" in Styles&Weight.

So maybe Scribus cannot work with such this font in the same way like other programs do (I had mentioned Libre Office or Inkscape).

May I be correct or not with this idea?

I thought there was a issue with these types of fonts. Bug is reported here.

Many thanx AdmFubar for the final clarification! I had checked the bugs too but probably too quick so I did not catch this one.
