Cannot find Mesh distortion under path

Hi,
i just started playing around with scribus yesterday for a layout. I am completely new to scribus but have a decent technical understanding.

My problem is that I tried to simulate the text distortion I saw in a youtube video course but I struggle to find the mesh distortion tool. I am not sure as I am using 1.6.2 and the video is showing 1.5.8 as the version being used, but I follow the exact steps:

create a text field,
write some text,
right click -> convert to -> outlines
but when i go to item-> path tools there is no mesh distortion anywhere not black and not greyed out.

I was suspecting that it moved between 1.5 and 1.6 or that it has something to do with the dependencies (i am using linux-arch)

So I thought I'd ask before i search myself silly. I tried to find something on google about is, but it only points to how to use it pages here in the forum.

Youtube vid is this:

(I'll remove it if it's against the policy, but I thought it might help highlight what I am doing, since I am following the steps in the vid)

Using 1.6. and the mesh distortion is in the item/path sub menu. Might have been moved in the 1.6.2 update.. or was omitted arch build for some reason. Can you try a flatpack and snap version in arch?
Using Scribus 1.6.1, openSUSE 15.6
