Images change size when I open my file (with video)

Hi all

I previously made a post on another part of the forum but I felt bad misplacing my post so I'm making a new one here. Hope that's alright.

I have an issue with my images changing size sometimes when I close and then open a file. It seems to happen mostly on images that I change outline of and/or are outside of margins. It's more likely to happen when I change the bottom part of their outline rather than the sides or top. I've experimented a bit to draw to these conclusions - but that doesn't help me understand what causes it and how to fix it... I made a recording of the process so you guys can have a better understandong of what I'm dealing with.

Also, my Scribus is in French, so excuse my French (literally)

Thank you for your help !!

hi sap

your video is marked as private – no access for me!

when you edit the outline and your image is set to fit the frame size, i would expect the image to change its size as well.
...but there seems to be a bug as the changes won't display before you reload the document. (not even after 'extras' → 'update document') – you could file a bug report.

for the text flow you should rather use the contour line than the outline of the frame. (in the edit window you can check the box 'edit contour line'...) this would keeb the image as it is and only affect the text flow.

edit: i just saw that you already reported it...

Hi! Thanks for letting me know, I changed the video settings to make it unlisted. Maybe it's actually the contour line I'm using ? My software is in French so I have no idea what's the term in English (and I can't find scribus-centered forums in French)

My fiance works in IT so he somewhat guided me to making a bug report, I hope what I posted there was useful.

Maybe now with the video it will make more sense ?

Thanks again!!

in your french setting you should check 'modifier le contour'

Hi utnik! There is no "modifier le contour" in french, it's only "modifier la forme". :(

I can't seem to find the bug report I've made, do you think it was closed or deleted somehow ?

utnik

hi sap

i still see your bug report here – and when i switch scribus to french, there is a checkbox called 'modifier le contour'. (see attachment...)
