Drop Shadows enabled in Scribus 1.5.6.1 don't actually print out from Scribus

I'm having an issue with Scribus 1.5.6.1 and "drop shadows" enabled on images. They show up fine in the preview mode, and they even export to PDF just fine, but I'd like to be able to print them right from scribus for individual test page prints, and they don't seem to want to print.

Is there something I'm missing or is this a known problem in 1.5.6.1?

hi mister

direct printing from an .sla file doesn't always work well. i wouldn't be surprised if transparencies (like drop shadows) don't show.
i always export it to .pdf first.

btw.: what are your printing settings? (postscript level 1, 2, 3 or .pdf)

Mister

Utnik,

They are Level 3, and I rarely print to PDF but that may be a something to consider when are are able to get distribution.

afaik there are ps-level 3 rips with support for .pdf 1.4 features and others which support only 1 bit transparency masks. i don't think that scribus supports 1.4 features in ps print.
