Hi, I'm a beginner

I want to make sure,
I would like to make a Graphic Standard Manual Book of logo design for my client's company and it will be print out.
Is it legally to use SCRIBUS for commercial use, like that?
same as GIMP or INKSCAPE 100% free

A quick answer here or via email would be great. :)
Thankyou

hi divi,

i'm not a laywer and i cannot give you legal advice.

without knowing the  policies on installing software your company has put in place, it's impossible to say, if using scribus on your office computer will get you in trouble or not.

from the scribus side, you should make sure that you read the license file

https://github.com/scribusproject/scribus/blob/master/COPYING

and understand it.
you will probably need your company's legal department to go through it and give you their agreement.

this having been being said, Scribus (GPL 2 with one exception) does not have the same license as Gimp and Inkscape (GPL 3).
the difference plays "in favour" of Scribus: if you legal department and management has given you the ok for using Gimp and Inkscape , it should be ok to use Scribus (again, i'm not a lawyer).
you still might need their explicit agreement.
(fyi, it does not work the other way round: if you got the ok for Scribus you still need to carefully check if using Gimp or Inkscape is ok)

From our side, if you simply want to use Scribus: the more users the merrier...
