mixing text colors on page

As a plain beginner, coming from QXpress I tried to change text color of some lines inside a frame.

After a number of attempts, came up with this :
- creating a rectangular frame
-copy/paste a (mouse)  text selection into the frame
- modify this frame attributes to alter color text
- copy/paste text from the frame back into main paragraph,
adding lines.
- delete the frame that contained the selection.

Now you have a patch of red text wedged into a black text.
I wonder though if it can't be made easier?

Scriborn,

1. Highlight the text that you want to change the color of in the original text frame.
2. Choose Color & Effects tab
3. Choose the color that you want.

Let me know if you need anymore assistance.

Cheers!

Thank you so much,
Actually, after upgrade to version 1.5 in Windows, it seems that what didn't work before now does :
change color or other attributes do now work under section "frame content editiing"
(I can't be sure exactly if taht's its name, I've got the French version of Scribus)
One can highlight and modify what is highlighted only in that " Frame Content Editor"  which makes sense,
insofar as zooming focus on text is much easier there.
Scribus is going to let me forget about other progs, after some training, of course!
