I was doing some research earlier to find out of there's an updated/fixed version (what we've been looking at may be the initial release from 2001).  Turns out Vinque is part of the Larabie Fonts collection, and may have been updated via his commercial forge, Typodermic Fonts.

I got the newest version of Vinque from fontspring.com.  It has version number 4.1, dated 31 Jan 2012.  It has 729 glyphs, compared to 455 in the original I have.  All the control characters seem to be corrected, and the only warning FontForge gives me is:

This font contains both a 'kern' table and a 'GPOS' table.
The 'kern' table will only be read if there is no 'kern' feature in 'GPOS'.


I'm certain this new version will fix my original issue.

I ran into this as well, but I found an easy workaround. I have a font that is PERFECT, (except that it isn't  because of this)  I didn't want to find another wonderful Celtic font, so what I ended up doing was to just change the font of the newline character to Arial, and it was gone.
