Correcting broken image file paths

Hello everybody! I have a problem.
I´m doing a book, about 500 pages, with pictures.

The problem is that when I make a safety copy of my work I lose the pictures.
The image file path is broken.

My setup is as follows.
Main directory includes one directory with the .sla files and one directory with the image files.
On the same level.

I work on an USB stick and make safety copies on the hard drive at work and on the hard drive
at home.

When I do the safety copy the image file path is broken. Not only at the hard drive but also on the USB stick.

Is there a way to repair the image file path?

And, is there a better way to configure the setup?

Hope I made myself clear and hope somebody can help.

Regards
Staffan

hi staffan

you could:

  • back up the whole project ('file ' → 'collect for output') instead of copying only the .sla file
  • or edit the path to the images with 'search and replace' when you open the .sla file in a text editor
i would propose the first way. so you have a fully working copy if anything goes wrong...

Thank you utnik, it seems to work allright!

First alternative.

I got 71 chapters in separate .sla files and 98 pictures
so it is not fun to lose the image path once and again.
