Table of Contents
« on: September 16, 2012, 11:22:18 pm »
Hello,

I tried to create a table of content. I followed the instructions on different sites f.e. http://wiki.scribus.net/canvas/Creating_a_Table_of_Contents
But when I tried to Extra<Generate Table of Contents... nothing happened.

I couls create the attribute, I named the text frame, where I want the TOC to go in, I assignet the attribute-Name tand Value to the Chapter-Frames...but just nothing happens.

What could be the reason? Where could I find help for this problem?

(using Scribus 1.4.0)

Best regards

Adriana

If we are talking on a book content, there is a simple way to do it  mikolaskova.
Layout two text box the content of the book with a left alien  and another text box with your page numbers right alien.  When you have finished highlight the page numbers and change them to left alien.

Don’t change the font size or they wont line up together.

Hope this will help.

hi adriana,

may i ask you how long your TOC will be?

a new TOC engine is in the workings, and until then you should probably create your TOC manually. the effort to keep it up to date is lower than the use of the current mechanism (and the effort needed to set it up... if it ever matches your needs!)
