Title: Import from MySQL / Foxpro?
Post by: sicon21 on August 20, 2012, 11:58:32 am
Hello,

I'm currently working with Scribus 1.4.1 to design a leaflet that lists some of my company's products and their respective prices.

I was wondering whether it's possible to use a script for Scribus to import the prices from either a MySQL or a Foxpro Database. I basically want to skip the work of having to go through the leaflet item by item and adjusting the prices whenever they change. Just running the script instead would save me a lot of time.

Any info on whether this is possible / how it can be done would be greatly appreciated.

hi sicon,

it's possible for any database that is supported by python.

and, yes, you'll need some python programming skills to do this...

you can have a look at this
http://wiki.scribus.net/canvas/Scripter/Databases
and you will certainly be able to find examples in the wiki...

just ask if you need more information
