Title: Importing a .pdf into Scribus
Post by: WoodDoc on July 24, 2012, 08:00:10 AM
I am relatively new to Scribus.  I am aware that I can insert an image frame, then go to Get Image and select a .pdf file.  However, it treats the entire pdf as a graphic, so any text present suffers some loss of resolution and clarity.  Is there another way to import pdf files that maintains the crispness of the font?

hi wooddoc,

welcome to scribus!

when exporting to pdf, you can select the experimental embedding of the PDFs and, then, get the original PDF as is included in your PDF.

just take care that then Scribus does not touch the PDF to be embedded, and you have to make sure that the color spaces match (and all fonts are there). that's why it's experimental...

I just tried it, and it seemed to work quite well.  Thanks!
