Title: Page not centred in main window
Post by: jdch on March 05, 2018, 02:37:06 PM

Hello,

The page or spread is always aligned left in the main window. Annoying! I am used to it being centred but imho that creates also much beter overview over the program. Can't that be changed somewhere? I can't find a way to do that anywhere in the program or online.

Welcome to the forum jdch.

Unfortunately there's no much you can do about it on a general/generic level. There is no "centre the page/spread in the window" function, but it would be nice to have one.

One thing you can do is close all documents, go to "Preferences / Display" and change the "Left Scratch Space". This will force Scribus to shift the page/spread over to the right but it's not a great solution as you will have to experiment with different values for different documents.

Personally I just keep my palettes on the right but that's not to everyone's taste, and I probably only do so because there's no "centre page" function in the first place.

That helps, although it doesn't, but I could play around with the values and see how that works out.

Thanks!

You're welcome.

It's not a real solution as it's just using something else to get - sort of - what you want but I think that's all you can do.
