Title: Why is the styles manager not dockable
Post by: mikolaskova on April 25, 2017, 07:15:07 AM
Hello,

I'm working with Scribus 1.5.2 and I like the possibility to dock all the palettes.
just for understanding: why is the Styles-Manager not dockable?

Thanks and regards,

Adriana

Good question, but there is a great deal of work being done on the whole interface - see:   forums.scribus.net/index.php/topic,1617.0.html  to see what's going on - so I think you'll see questions like this are getting some excellent attention.

Hi Adriana,

just to understand your need. Can you describe your use case why should it be dockable? In my point of view it is not needed to have this panel permanently docked in the user workspace. I would need most space for other more often used panels, like property panel, pages panel or alignment panel.

regards,
Martin

hi

i agree with tim:

- not sure it should be dockable (but the style manager UI should be reworked to work in a modal way *and* to be accessible where the styles are used)

- we need to define what the different types of dialogs and what are the behaviors and use cases for each of them. i would suggest that we start a topic in the UI board and start the discussion : - )
