Title: Re-linking images if folder name or location changes?
Post by: dezcat on November 27, 2017, 03:32:40 PM
I have a project whose images reside in a folder I accidentally re-named. Naturally, Scribus naturally can't "find" and display the images. Is there a way to point my document to the images folders, or must I re-link each one individually?

Thank you!

What version of Scribus are you using? Newer versions have a tool I think is calle Image manager where you can adjust paths (but I don't remember in what version it came).

But you will need to do it for one image at a time I think.

The other option is probably to use a text editor to search and replace paths in the .SLA.

is there a way to get Scribus to show you what it *thinks* the folder name and path ought to be?

OK..the answer is, "yes!"

Made a copy of my .sla file - just in case - then opened with a text editor to learn what the document had as the parent folder where the images reside.

Then all I had to do was change the name of that folder back and Shazam!  Scribus document found all the pics!

Woo-hoo!
