Title: Where do I get a tick?
Post by: Ged on August 19, 2016, 02:07:05 AM
Ive been looking through the 'Insert' menu for a tick symbol.  Cant find it anywhere.  It may be in the wingdings font somewhere but there is no way of knowing where on the keyboard.

Any help on where do I get a tick?  Thanks.

Keeping in mind that you can only insert a tick from a font that has a tick glyph, while editing the text:

* Choose menu "Insert -> Glyph...".
* Press the "Show/Hide Enhanced Palette" button (it looks like a table).

You can change the font at the top of the dialog if necessary.

* Locate the tick glyph on the table of glyphs (if there is one).
* Double-click the tick to add it to the list of "Glyphs to Insert" (at the bottom of the dialog).
* Press the "Insert" button.
* Close the "Enhanced Character Palette" dialog.
* Close the "Character Palette" dialog.

Thanks for that; I found my usual one in 'wingdings.'  Ive never encountered the term 'glyphs' before.  I thought they were baby elves.   ;D
