Title: Best technique to have a template for left and right pages
Post by: sbxjld on December 21, 2014, 07:31:22 PM
Hi,
how to create a page templates

I want to know if this is possible or not, and is yes, know where it is documented

I want to create a book of about 50 pages and need to have a page template, with the left pages containing a text frame flowing from one page to the other (& using styles) , and right pages with a picture with caption. This is a first test - in the real life, it will probably be more complex.

I tried to use master pages, but those are "frozen", the images/text frames appear in read-only and I have to create a new one on top of the master.

Is there another possibility than having to copy/paste frames in each new page, as said in  http://lists.scribus.net/pipermail/scribus/2009-August/005852.html (http://lists.scribus.net/pipermail/scribus/2009-August/005852.html)

Thank you for the help.
Jean-Louis

The scrapbook.

Master Pages work as a background.

There is also something called "automatic text frames", but they may not be suitable for your situation (the automatic text frame size is set by the margins).
