Title: Greyscale images exported as DeviceCMYK
Post by: oscillator on October 29, 2012, 11:42:48 AM
Hi!

I checking a PDF (1.4/Acrobat 5) produced by Scribus 1.4 for printing. It contains greyscale TIFF:s from GIMP. I've checked using Photoshop that they are greyscale images.

But in the PDF they are DeviceCMYK, not DeviceGrey. Will this be a problem?

In Scribus, PDF export:

For printer - will create CMYK PDF
For screen/web - will create RGB PDF
Grayscale - will create grayscale PDF (I think, not sure about this one....)

The only way to avoid conversion of greyscale images is currently to use PDF/X-3 (fpr which Scribus will not do any conversion at all).
