Title: Numbering pages as X of Y
Post by: DaBose on September 02, 2017, 09:45:34 PM
Is there a way to get the pagination to read as say "page 2 of 9" in scribus??

yes, have a look at insert > character > ...  : - )

you will probably add them to a text frame on the master pages...

Thanks a.l.e.!

This is what I am really trying to accomplish:

Create a document with a coversheet, then have the body of the document numbered as page X of Y where Y is one less than number of actual pages.  (In other words, I only want the number of pages in the body to be counted. I've tried to create and manipulate values in the document section setup, but with no success.

There doesn't seem to be a way of forcing a section break while editing the document. The section definitions seem to be driven by what is already in the document.

Go to File -> Document Setup -> Sections -> and in the field FROM insert 2 or from what page numeber do you want to start. You may also have a look here, it is explained better

you should apply a different page master to the cover, if it's useful I attach a test file
