Title: scribus to indesign
Post by: birdbrain on November 10, 2011, 10:45:53 PM
Howdy all,

Is it possible to convert a scribus .sla to an Indesign project?  I am having a font issue that InDesign could solve but my whole project thus far is in Scribus.

Indesign's file format is proprietary, the Scribus developers would have to pay a lot of money to be able to write a filter to convert to Indesign.

Scribus' file format is open, so I suggest you ask Adobe if they can write an import filter for SLA for Indesign. (I can guess their answer...)

scribus 1.5svn should be able to read IDML files... you could check if it can also write to this format..

afaict, writing to IDML is something we should support... and it should not be that hard to implement, since reading it is already there...

but if it's not done yet, somebody has to do it... and we should first find that somebody :-)
