In exporting to PDF 1.4, with Scribus 1.4.1, in "Output intended for (screen/ printer)", is it true that screen gives RGB images, printer gives CMYK images in the exported PDF file? Does this function do other things to the file... for instance, does the screen setting change the dpi of the images?
No, resolution is not changed unless you explicitly change the setting for downsampling images (there is a separate setting for that).
Nermander, thanks. I have been very careful not to change the setting for downsampling, because I want to keep my 300 dpi. I notice that for printer I get a file almost three times as large. Would that perhaps reflect the size of whatever file type is used for CMYK images?
Possibly, I never thought of it before, but I think JPEG does not support CMYK so images will have to be some other format I guess (compressed TIFF?).
