Title: Save As PDF, Output To File
Post by: James Glover on September 07, 2017, 04:32:57 AM
Kind of a quirky problem here.

I perform the following actions routinely:

Under File, I select Export > Save as PDF.

The Output To File folder is correct. I know this because when I click on 'change', I can verify it's where I want the PDF to go. It's always the same file location, I'm not changing it at any time.

However, the problem arises when I don't click 'change', and Scribus saves the PDF to the .sla Save-As/autosave folder, which is a different folder. I don't want the PDFs to go there.

So. How can I have Export > Save As PDF > Output To File location actually save it to the correct PDF file location without me having to verify it first?

Is Scribus incapable of "remembering" the PDF output file location, even though it's already set to save the PDF there?

Running 1.4.6 on Windows.

I searched to see if this issue had already been posted, but didn't see anything.

Thanks
James

no, indeed i don't recall a similar request having being posted.

probably, most people (me included) are happy with scribus always first suggesting the document path as the one for the pdf.

but your workflow makes sense (and would probably be simple to support).
would you mind, asking in the bug tracker (https://bugs.scribus.net) for adding a default path for the pdf export?
when left empty, it would default to the document location. as today.
