Title: icc profile free
Post by: isuldotnet on May 10, 2019, 03:49:25 AM
Hi all,

I am debian user. I use (color-profile) icc profile free. But it's looks diferrent when i used icc profile (non-free). For example, cyan looks vivid like this below picture. Any body know ?

i don't know exactly what your issue is... but, yes, using different color profiles will lead to a different rendering...

thanks a.l.e for the respon. Scribus require icc-profile package in debian but i have installed icc-profile-free package. May be it's about "broken link" between scribus and icc-profile-free package.

using icc profiles is not about getting better or nicer images.

it's about matching the rendering on screen with the printed result.

in order to get there, you will need icc profiles that match your hardware (monitor, printer, ...) and just enabling the color management will give you random results.
(ok, there are standard profiles that do an ok job with "normal" hardware...)

so, yes if you change the icc profile you're using, the rendering will probably change.
that's to be expected.
