Long life to Scribus forum
Another milestone reached. Niiiiiice :)
Longue vie à Scribus, que les nouveautés pleuvent ^^
And a first question regarding the forum: why is my password refused when I try to change my profile? It is over 20 characters long with some special ones. Is that a problem?

It shouldn't be a problem. Remember, you use your email and the password to log in not your user name. This is done deliberately to prevent spam bots from knowing login names.

I can log in without problem, but in Modify Profile > Account related settings, which asks for the current password, I cannot change anything, get the message:
The following errors occurred when trying to save your profile:
The password you entered was not correct.
It is most definitely not the wrong password, I have it in KeypassX and in the mail I've received after registration. Am I missing something?
If it gains Scribus users, then I'm all for it.
Yeap ! What's a good news ! ;D
Hope this forum could help many people to use Scribus.

Sorry, not sure what's going on - did two tests on password change with mixed case, digits and punctuation and didn't get any problems.
the forum looks great! love it! keep up the good work guys! :D
Great start - I will be browsing regularly
I like this forum! I am italian and there is no forum for scribus in my language, so I looked for an english one.
I hope that this new forum will be full of topics!
Marina
Forum looks great, smf platform is professional and elegant
congratulation, we should keep active all together because Scribus is a great software ;).
FINALLY :)
Nice design, now on to read all the things in here (I was out of the loop for two years, but as Scibus starts featuring stuff up on par with Indesign CS3, and my boss won't pay for the upgrade I might as well switch over.
Getting answers will make a forum work!
I have written on another thread but not getting an answer.
"I cant get going with Scribus 1.3.3.14.
I am used to Microsoft Publisher.
My great difficulty is to create a novel of A5 pages template on an A4 sheets of paper and to print on both sides to produce. I will need 150 pages."

These forums are a volunteer-driven effort, so alas you can ask, but you can't force people to answer. Please note that there is a mailing list (http://lists.scribus.net/mailman/listinfo/scribus) and a Wiki (http://wiki.scribus.net/canvas/Scribus).
... and one should not forget that in the meantime, wena got hundred of answers on dozens of posts :-)

And that's how it works.
...and I just wanted to ask, anyone alive around? :)
it's really good, im new here, and i there are already severall posts that are really good
This forum was a great help to me. I had used Quark several years back, and picked Scribus for this job and project. I produced a 50 page catalog, using layers, and wrote a "how to" document so the text layer could be translated into other languages by our resellers. So far, so good - the Japanese translation is almost done. In my spare time I'm working through some of the tutorials in this forum just for fun. Great Job!!
hello guys I'm new here,
scribus is nice!
peace
I'm here to learn — thank you to everyone involved in this project
New people should post at least once!
here it is
thankyou
Roy
no, they should not :-)
but there is not much interest in registering if you don't plan to post...
Well, actually, registering allows you to:
* send personal messages to other forum members;
* customise how the forum looks (date/time format etc.);
* more easily see new/unread posts;
* get notifications for threads/posts you are interested in;
* view information on other members;
...and more, so it's well worth registering if you're interested in Scribus, even if you don't want to post anything.
... that's true, garry...
anyway, i thought about my precedent post and, of course, it's nice if people post... but i'd prefer if they say something, about how the use scribus, show a screenshot of their work, say what they plan to use scribus for...
i don't feel disturbed by people just wanting to say hello (and thank you), but i don't want to promote that behavior either : - )
have a wonderful evening you all!
a.l.e
I understand a.l.e.
All I was trying to do is give people some reasons for joining up.
Once someone registers a lot of extra possibilities opens up for them, if they want to take advantage.
P.S. I agree that just saying hello is nice and all but it's not particularly useful to other users. It's nice to hear from new users but I would much prefer to help them with something rather than just say hello back. (Also, I'd really like to see more new stuff in the Showcase area; there hasn't been much recently.)
