Title: orientation problem when printing
Post by: carusoswi on October 26, 2012, 09:22:30 AM
I imported a landscape oriented form into Scribus, filled it in by overlaying text boxes, then tried to print it.
The form printed in portrait mode, and was cropped such that information was missing.

I worked around the problem by exporting to pdf and printing from there.

What am I doing wrong to cause this problem, and how may I correct it.

I have taken to exporting to pdf routinely, because I routinely get a string of error messages from Scribus when I try to print.  I get the same messages when exporting to pdf, but I can click to ignore them and the results are always ok.

Suggestions appreciated.

hi caruso,

going through a PDF is the right thing to do.

very few people have managed it to print to landscape directly from scribus.
personally, i've never seen it work and even proposed to remose the option to print to landscape -- and replace it with a warning that one should go through a PDF -- but the proposition has been rejected.

btw, the only person who could say that he has managed to print in landscape is the team members that is working on windows: so if you want to try to print directly, you may want to try it on windows first.

I cannot, with Scribus 1.4.1 under Widows XP, mix a landscape page in a portrait document. Landscape documents work fine.

What are you trying to do?
