Post by: dezcat on July 11, 2017, 04:15:33 AM
I have the latest Scribus on both OS X and for Linux, but my linux version won't open sla files made in the Mac version; the error sites software version.

Is there anything I can do?

just a guess: you have 1.4.6 on linux and 1.5.3 on mac...

older version of scribus cannot open files created with newer versions. (well, at least not across "full" versions").

... or you install the development version on linux...

depending on the distribution it is more or less easy...

is this an easy task, and if I do it can I save out to the most current, non-dev version of Scribus?

Thank you!

some distribution are packaging 1.5.3.
then it's a trivial task to add it.

and you cannot open with 1.4.6 files you have saved with 1.5.3 (but you already know that).
but you can install both versions on the same computer.

hope that helps.
