Title: Printing
Post by: Map on June 14, 2017, 10:42:28 PM
Hello from another beginner.
I am trying to compile an illustrated catalogue and have so far managed to create an A4 page with text and images which I can use as a basis for learning.
As I have no publishing experience, I have to see a printed page, before I am happy.
However, when I print it, either directly or using pdf, the content sits in the upper left hand corner and is reduced to one quarter of the A4 sheet.
The pdf version is exactly the same but lacks the images.
Would someone be kind enough to tell me what I am doing wrong.
Thank you

it's not easy to tell you what went wrong without access to your file...

hi map

how are you creating your pdf?

with "file > export > save as pdf"?

you're welcome to read http://write.flossmanuals.net/scribus/hands-on/ as an introduction to scribus...

Thank you for responding. Yes I did create the pdf as you suggest. I will read the manual and see if that suggests anything. Failing that, I will impose again and seek help.
Best regards,

i think that you should share your .sla and .pdf...

i've never heard of such an issue, so it's probably related to some "unusual" choices you have made...

My guess is that you have set the wrong page size.

Hello and thank you all for your replies,
Unfortunately the files seem to be too large to send.
The .sla is 20kb which should be OK, and the .pdf is 2.7mb which isn't
Kind regards,

hi map,

you can use a file sharing platform and post here the links...

something like https://framapic.org for images and https://framadrop.org for pdf and other files...

Good evening a.l.e.
I have been away for three days, hence the fact that I haven't responded sooner.
I tried what you said, (pdf at 100%) and it worked.
Thank you for your advice and patience.
Kind regards,
