Many levels

Hi,

New to Scribus, new to this forum and apologies if this question is answered somewhere else.

I had to put a user guide together in a hurry this week, chose to use Scribus and ended up with a serviceable document pretty quickly. Kudos to the developers.

One issue I have is with the creation of levels for every frame I create. I ended up with a 22 page document and over 200 levels - is this normal?  I couldn't find any document explaining the theory behind levels, particularly if two frames can exist on the same level.

Thanks,

Nick

It is normal, each object has a level that decides which objects are in front of other. Two objects can never be on the same level (because it would be impossible to decide which is in front of the other).

Do not confuse levels with layers. Levels are just a position in depth (like X and Y, you can see level as Z).

Layers on the other hand can be locked, turned on/off etc.

Perfectly logical.

Thanks for the swift reply.
