Formatting while transfering paragraph styles

Hi! I am a new Scribus User (version 1.4.1 in Windows 7).

My task is to make a 40 pages booklet in 20 languages. For this I am using paragraph styles so that the translators can include their work with such a code at the beginning of each paragraph: [BO1], [BO2] and so on. It works very well.

Problem: I didn't find a way so far to keep the "bold" or "italic" only for a few words inside a paragraph, when I transfer the data from OpenOffice. Do you see a way to do this? I hope my question is clear enough. If so, thanks in advance for your help.

There are two ways, the first and best is to have the origenal text in Open Office and import from there.

There at different choices, I forget which one it is. When you get to import text, I think the option is to import the writer version of the native format.

The other choice is to put them in Scribus from the text, first highlight the peace you want and  change from regular text to Italics or bold  but it is tedious to do that.

Hope this helps.
