Dear all
I have an 8-page newsletter.
In some pages there are three or four text frames.
As it is the text format is same for all text frames. How to change the text style such as fonts, colour, bold, alignment (left, centre, right), boxes, etc.

If you have access to the Scribus Manual (menu "Help -> Scribus Manual") then look at "Documentation -> Scribus Basics -> Working With Text".
Otherwise, these should help you to make a start:
* https://wiki.scribus.net/canvas/Working_with_text_frames
* http://write.flossmanuals.net/scribus/styles/
Working with text is a major part of what Scribus does so there is no quick answer. You've just got to learn how it works.

Dear sir
I have received an article for publication in the news letter.  The article is in ms word.  How to get text of this article in the text frame.
Should I type the whole article again using text edit.  Even then I have to create many text frames for each paragraph.
Your guidance please.

you can use file > import > get text (when a text frame is selected) to load the content of a word document.

if you want to keep (some of) the text formatting, you can first convert the docx file into odt (by using libreoffice). and then load the odt file in the same way.

hope that helps, sir

Just to add to what a.l.e said above, importing text with formatting can be tricky until you get used to how it works. See these posts for some guidance: http://forums.scribus.net/index.php/topic,2403.0.html and http://forums.scribus.net/index.php/topic,792.0.html

On the other hand, if you want to strip text formatting out - e.g. you want to make sure you have some very "clean" text - you can copy/paste the text into a text editor first and then copy/paste that text into Scribus.

Dear ale and Garry
Thank you very much for your help.
I downloaded libre office and I am amazed it really worked.
I shall be contacting you via forum for further help, if needed.

This is in continuation of my earlier posts.

I created a write up in Tamil language using libreoffice for inclusion  in a news letter in scribus.
When I tried to get text for the text frame it copies
but with small squares instead of Tamil fonts.
How to overcome this problem.
Your guidance please.
