Hello,

SCALE, the Southern California Linux Expo, is currently planning for our 10th annual event which will take place in January 2012.  We are currently looking for volunteers who might be interested in helping with creating our printed conference program guide.

One of SCALE's dirty secrets is that many of our printed materials have been created with InDesign rather than free software.  Almost everything else about SCALE is done with entirely free or open-source software.  This year we would like to move to free software like Inkscape, Scribus, etc to create the guide.

SCALE draws over 2000 attendees, 100 exhibitors, and almost 100 seminars or tutorials throughout the weekend. Each of our attendees and speakers receive a copy of the conference program.  We are a non-profit and volunteer run community based open-source conference in Los Angeles.  Our next event will be held January 20-22, 2012 at the LAX Hilton.

If you are interested in helping out with SCALE or the SCALE Program guide, please send us an email at ilan at socallinuxexpo.org.

Regards,
Ilan
