Where are text files located on hard drive?

When we post text and select "save to file," where are they saved?
I want to save  files from a project and make way for a new one.
Thanks.

The only "Save to File" function that I know of in Scribus is in the Story Editor. When this function is selected it should bring up a "Save as" dialog asking you where you want to save the text to. This is the same as any other "Save as" dialog on your system and you need to tell it where the file should go.

Have I misunderstood something?

Thank you. I will create a file in one of the top tiers that show in the window and
then I'll know.  I will always wonder where the text content for the project went, though.

Draw a text box.
Click "edit file"
Enter content.
Click "Save to file" from File pull down.
"Save as" window opens.
The "Look in" window lists Desktop, Documents, My Computer.
Clicking on one of them opens the tree in the right window.
Option to name file.
File type is txt.
I'm the one who is missing something.
It is unlike any "save to" I've known, but it works fine.

If you want to save files from a project to start a new, why don't you just use "Collect for output" and save the whole project somewhere?

GarryP

ed_shaw, the only things that aren't held within the Scribus SLA document are images in image frames and the font files you're using. Everything else is contained within the SLA itself, including the text. If you don't need to use the text elsewhere you don't need to do anything else with it.
