Dangling attribute

Firstly, I have flung out one or two help requests on this issue so if you have already seen it, please accept my apologies for the duplication.

I have a ~70 page doc.  Page 1 is the cover page, and page 2, the reverse side when the doc is printed double side, had an image on it.  I gave that image an attribute so that it would show up in a table of contents.

Then I changed my mind, moved the illustration to the cover and deleted page 2. Only trouble is I haven't deleted the attribute.  It still shows up in the table of contents, but I cannot find it on any page. Or anywhere for that matter.

Any advise on how to exorcise this ghost?

hi chris

does the image show up in the 'outline' window as well?
if it does, you could delete it there...

If you've simply moved an image which had an attribute to a different page then the attribute will have moved with it.

And the attribute will still show in the TOC - although you'll have to refresh the TOC to change the page number.

The attribute will continue to exist until you delete it in the "Attributes" dialog. (Or the other way is to Cut and Paste the object. That seems to remove the attribute also but I'm not sure if that's a feature or a bug.)

Another idea here: Did you just remove the image from the image frame but kept the empty image frame??

The attribute is set for the image frame, not the image itself.

The Outline windows is probably the best way to find out where the problem is.

The Outline Window was the way to go.  Using that I could identify where the attribute was.  And where a number of other superfluous bits are as well.

Thanks for the comments.

The Outline Window is perfect for getting rid of forgotten empty frames! :)
