Output Intended For: printer selection greyed out

I'm trying to create a PDF/X1-a file in Ubuntu Scribus 1.5.

Under Export > Save as PDF > General > File Options, if I select PDF/X1-a, then in the color tab, Output Intended For: Printer, is greyed out. If I select PDF 1.3, 1.4, or 1.5 as a file option it is not. The same is true if I try PDF/X-3 (since it is a color file), the printer option is greyed out.

I took a look at Scribus 1.4, and PDF/X-3 as a file option does the same thing, greys out printer as intended output.

What is the secret formula for enabling this? (!)

This is a book cover I need to upload, but I'm having a real struggle with color issues (see my other question, http://forums.scribus.net/index.php/topic,1108.0.html. )

Standard PDF/X1-a is for print and therefore available is only print in cmyk with spot. RGB or Grayscale (monitor and grayscale settings) there are out this standard. Everything is ok. Choice any pdf standard switched some things.

Leaf, thank you so much for the response. I've been trying to follow the directions here http://www.naktiv.net/books/wnbr/publishing.html because this guy seems to have had success using Scribus to prepare files for LSI. Printer for intended output was part of that. Maybe I'm worrying for nothing.
